Do you teach complete beginners?

Absolutely, if you’ve never even touched a piano before you’re more than welcome! I have taught loads of beginners over the years! 

Do you teach children?

Yes, I teach children of all ages to play the piano! Music is a fantastic tool for learning, as well as developing confidence & social skills in young people. My exciting lessons will ensure that they really enjoy learning to play thte piano with much of the input on the music we cover being chosen by the student. You are more than welcome to join us during the piano lesson if you wish to sit in! I have also been fully CRB checked.

Where are you based?

I all my piano lessons from my home teaching space located on Woodgate Drive, Derby, DE73 6UX. It is a great place to learn to play the piano with all the resources that we will need for our lessons. What songs will we learn to play?

Its up to you! We'll learn a combination of songs which help to build your basic knowledge of the piano, as well as any songs which you love. I'm open to all styles so we can focus on the music that you really enjoy as well as improving your piano playing.

Do I need anything before I start my first lesson?

Not at all, I have all the equipment here that you are more than welcome to use!

Do I need a piano?

In order to consolidate and practice what you learn in piano lessons you will need regular access to a piano. But there’s no need to rush out and spend loads of money initially. For advice on what piano to purchase please get in touch.

Classical and Contemporary

My piano lessons are driven by your personal taste in music - whatever you’re passionate about - be it Mumford & Sons or Mozart - I provide bespoke lessons to suit your requirements.  I have many years experience as a piano teacher - tutoring students from the age of 4 upwards, including many adults of all standards.

I also have taken many of my students through the ABRSM grades - though this is certainly not compulsory.
